Camden Junior Welfare League
League Giving
School Medical Services
With the assistance of school nurses throughout Kershaw County, we are able to identify children in need. The League provides funds to pay for doctor visits, dental services, prescriptions, and personal items like clothing. Many children are helped on a case by case basis and it empowers nurses who directly deal with these children to help solve an immediate need. Eyeglass prescriptions in conjunction with H. Rubin.
College Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded annually to Kershaw County Students planning a career in a helping profession. See our Scholarships Page for more information.
Grants
The League has established three grant programs throughout the year: Fall Classroom Enrichment Grants, Non-Profit Youth Grants, and Spring Classroom Enrichment Grants. Check out our Grants tab to learn more!
Belle of the Ball
Each year, the provisional class of League members puts together a free event open to Kershaw County high school girls who cannot otherwise afford to attend prom. League members collect donations of prom gowns, shoes, jewelry and other accessories, providing them to young women who are identified by their high school guidance counselor during a Boutique-day at the League building in Downtown Camden.
